Back in 2009, I was introduced to a personal finance blogger (a topic I had no interest in) writing under the banner Budgets Are Sexy (a name I thought was pretty corny). After our first conversation, I wasn’t terribly impressed with him, and he didn’t like me very much.
Little did I know that 13 years later I’d be sitting here writing this paragraph, thinking back on how grateful I now am for that initial random connection . . . a connection that brought me a new best friend, a generous business and philanthropy partner, and a remarkable community creator. We’ve shared so many adventures over the past decade, and I’m looking forward to many more.
So I give a hearty welcome to all our new friends, and ask that you please grab a card and go do some good in the world in honor of Mr. J$, for all he’s done for the rest of us!
PS: Please don’t tell Jay I’ve written these kind words about him – he’ll think I’ve gone soft in my old age.
